Consulate of Romania in Geneva, Switzerland



1st December is the National Day of Romania. An important day for all Romanians in Romania and abroad. December 1 commemorates the assembly of the delegates of ethnic Romanians held 98 years ago in Alba Iulia, which declared the Union of Transilvania with Romania. The Honorary Consulate in Geneva has jurisdiction over the Cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Jura, Neuchatel, Fribourg and Valais. 

The mission of the Consulate is developing political, economic and social ties between Romania and Western Switzerland as well as the protection of Romanian citizens and interests. 

The activities of the Consulate are governed by International law and by the 1963 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic and Consular relations. 

IMPORTANT: The Consulate is not entitled to issue Romanian passports and visas or other administrative documents.
